When Delby Rat Junior watched the humans moving into the big house, little did he know about the challenges he would face. Hearing that the whole colony was going to lose their safe, underground home was strangely exciting and scary at the same time. With so much at stake, would he remember to pass the news on as soon as he reached the Great Bloating Hall, or would the other's have to find out the hard way?
Where will they go and how will they avoid the nasty cat?
It was a great pleasure working on this lovely story of courage and friendship for the brilliant writer Shelley Clarke.
A chapter book with something for everyone!

Arthur Skid's Chronicles of being a kid Volume 1, is a wonderfully funny book written by Martin Kirkham. Created in a fantastic rhyming style throughout, this book tells of facts that kids really need to know through the eyes of young Arthur Skid. There is something for absolutely everyone in this book and grown ups will find themselves laughing as well as the children! There are even some bits that will make you go 'eww'!
I had such a lot of fun illustrating this book and bringing Arthur and his family to life, from the always flustered Mum to the brilliant Granny who dishes out sweets no matter what! This is a book that families can enjoy together and will do time and time again, a must have for the book shelf!
And I'm sure we will be seeing more of The Skid's very soon..........

An exclusive Jackanory commemorative book to celebrate hard work, adaptability and kindness during the Covid-19 pandemic.
When business owner, Anna James, approached me with her vision of a unique coffee table style commemorative book full of interviews and annecdotes and acts of kindness during the pandemic, I was thrilled that I could play a part in this wonderful project. After hearing the huge list of people Anna had already got lined up to be involved with the book it was my task to design and illustrate the front cover! It was a very proud moment in my life, being able to capture the love and positivity packed inside.
It's 350+ pages including photos and interviews with key workers, doctors, dustbin workers, as well as some of the things we've all been seeing over the past few months.
Whoever you are, this book is sure to make you feel something and is quite literally a historical read.
ALL profits from the sale of this book will be donated to NHS Charities Together and other worthy causes.
